Water system audits.

Full audit capability including, influent clarification, boiler feedwater pre-treatment, steam and condensate, cooling tower blowdown, and effluent treatment, to improve results and lower operating costs and overall cost of ownership from reduced deposition and corrosion issues throughout the systems.

Energy & steam system audits.

Fuel, water, and maintenance are major operating cost components of a power/cogen facility. Properly designed and operated pre-treatment equipment is critical to provide the highest quality feedwater, as is ensuring the proper feedwater and condensate chemical treatment options are in place and cost optimized for asset life preservation. For complex steam systems, measuring the actual condensate pH throughout the condensate system can pay big dividends in reduced steam trap, reboiler and condensate receiver maintenance costs.

Thermal storage systems.

TES systems often present challenges to the operator to maintain reliability and integrity and minimize corrosion and fouling issues in direct and indirect chilled water end users. Experienced in troubleshooting problems caused by water chemistry and intermittent nature of TES plants, and how to safely apply chlorine dioxide and other disinfectants to achieve good anti-microbial results.

Corrosion inhibitor development.

Application of the optimal combination of anodic and cathodic inhibitors and careful attention to the Larson Skold and other corrosivity indexes is vitally important to ensure the system corrosion rate is under control; particularly with copper/admiralty chillers and air handlers to avoid premature failure of these components.

Scale & deposit control.

Inorganic and organic deposits in heat exchangers, process equipment and piping can lead to unplanned and costly system downtime. Various mechanical, operational and chemical methods can be used to control calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate and other problem minerals. Computer modeling and common sense can prevent problems before they require a shut down.

Chlorine Dioxide applications.

Applying chlorine dioxide safely for cooling tower process disinfection, phenol destruct, manganese oxidation, and other applications, because of chlorine dioxide's unique selectivity and oxidizing power, all need to be carefully planned and monitored to avoid safety issues. 40 yrs of chlorine dioxide experience from <1 kg/day to 5,000 kg/day in aqueous systems to gas phase chlorine dioxide remediation of Anthrax contaminated buildings.
